Continuing a Career of Environmental Leadership Rep. Beyer Joins SEEC

February 4, 2015

The House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) is pleased to welcome Congressman Don Beyer (VA-08) to its membership.

Serving his first term in the House, Rep. Beyer has an established record as an environmental leader, having previously served as U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland, and as a member of the Virginia Governor’s Commission on Climate Change. Rep. Beyer said of joining SEEC:

“Climate change is the single most important issue of our time. As a member of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition I look forward to working with my colleagues to reduce carbon emissions, invest in clean energy and energy efficiency, and move legislation to address the crisis of climate change."

"I am pleased to welcome my friend and Virginia colleague Don Beyer to the Green Dogs," said SEEC Co-Chair Gerry Connolly (D-VA). "Don understands the urgency to address climate change and I know he will be a forceful advocate in Congress to make sure we meet this challenge."
