Great Lakes Champion Grows Coalition Strength

April 8, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) welcomed freshman Congressman Brad Schneider of Illinois' 10th Congressional District to its ranks.

Rep. Schneider said of his membership in SEEC: “I am encouraged by the considerable progress made in the field of green and renewable energy by both the private sector and the federal government, but we need to continue to build on these gains, which is why I’m honored to join the Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition (SEEC). Our environment is precious and our resources finite, so we must prioritize investments investing in new technology and innovation that will lead us toward a sustainable future that keeps our economy dynamic and our environment vibrant.”

“Rep. Schneider is a strong proponent of caring for and restoring the Great Lakes,” said SEEC Executive Director Kara Allen. “SEEC Members invite his passion and look forward to using it as we continue our efforts to protect America’s natural environment, promote a sustainable energy future, and fight climate change.”

SEEC now has 48 members with the addition of Congressman Schneider.
