SEEC Welcomes 50th Member to Coalition

May 8, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) welcomes to its ranks freshman Congressman Denny Heck of Washington’s 10th Congressional District.

A strong environmental advocate throughout his lawmaking career, Rep. Heck said of his membership in SEEC: “A healthy economy requires a healthy environment. We know this to be especially true in Washington state, where so many of our businesses rely on sustainable use of our natural resources. That’s why I’m excited to be joining the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with other members of Congress on cleaning-up the Puget Sound, protecting our national parks, promoting clean energy technology, and combating climate change.”

“We need more leaders like Congressman Heck who recognize the need to preserve our environment so that future generations may benefit from it as we have,” said SEEC Executive Director Kara Allen. “SEEC Members are committed to responsible stewardship and are pleased to welcome a like-minded member to strengthen our efforts.”
