Co-Chairs Applaud the Nomination of SEEC Member Rep. Deb Haaland
WASHINGTON, D.C. – SEEC Co-Chairs Reps. Gerry Connolly, Paul Tonko and Doris Matsui made the following statement in response to the announcement that the Biden-Harris Adminstration will nominate SEEC Member Rep. Deb Haaland for the role of Interior Secretary.
“We congratulate our SEEC colleague Congresswoman Deb Haaland on her historic nomination to serve as Secretary of Interior, and we applaud the incoming Biden-Harris Administration for this decision.
“Since joining Congress and our coalition, Congresswoman Haaland has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to protecting public lands, addressing the climate crisis, and ensuring Indigenous communities across the country are represented. We urge our colleagues in the Senate to advance her nominations with broad, bipartisan support, and we look forward to working with our colleague in her new role.
