Media Advisory: Congressional Leaders Call for Climate Justice, Jobs and Action

April 14, 2017

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, April 27th at 9am Members of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition (SEEC) and other environmental leaders will gather at the House Triangle (East Front of the U.S. Capitol near the House steps) to call for climate justice, jobs and a clean energy economy.

The last several years had seen tremendous progress in the fight against climate change culminating in the ratification of the Paris Climate Agreement in November 2016. Unfortunately, the Trump Administration has spent its first 100 days attacking many of the hard-won protections for our climate, health, and communities, including attempting to eviscerate the EPA’s budget, as well as roll back the Clean Power Plan. Members will voice their support for the Peoples Climate March and demand that all elected officials across the country stand for climate justice.

The Peoples Climate March is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th in Washington, D.C. which is also Donald Trump’s 100th day in office. Citizens visiting Washington, D.C. for the March are also expected to attend.

This event will be live-streamed through facebook or follow along on twitter. Members of the media are encouraged to RSVP to chris.rackens@mail.house.gov.
